
The Rogers-Dean Award
Three $3,000 awards available for strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion.

Chamber Music Tuscaloosa (CMT) is pleased to announce applications may now be submitted for the 2025 Rogers-Dean Awards. These awards are to support talented music students to further their studies and performance/study opportunities in the field. Three awards of $3,000 each are available in these categories:
1) Best high school award
2) Best collegiate award
3) Best at-large award (high school or college)

Rising high school juniors and seniors or college undergraduate instrumentalists on any string, brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument in the state of Alabama are eligible to apply for the Rogers-Dean Award. High School students can be attending public or private school or be home-schooled. Alabama state residency is not required for college undergraduates, but they must be currently registered and attending an Alabama college or university at the time of their application.

1. Complete Application form (scan the QR code above)
2. Resume that includes the following:
Your musical performance experiences (summer camps, festivals, orchestras, etc.)
Any musical honors or awards you have received
Names of your past and current music teachers and approximate dates of study. List your current teacher first.
Two letters of recommendation (at least one from a music teacher)
3. VIDEO – not to exceed 20 minutes in length
Submit a high-quality video recording of at least two (2) selections in contrasting styles
Include in the video’s description the title of each piece, the movement (if applicable), and the composer’s name.
If the piece includes accompaniment/other instruments, make sure all parts are being performed.
The video should be shared via private YouTube link when submitting the application.
NOTE: You may submit more than two selections, but the video may not exceed 20 total minutes of music.
If a video exceeds 20 minutes, only the first 20 minutes of the video will be considered for the award.

2025 applications for the Rogers-Dean Award will be due May 15, 2025.
